Herbed Skyr Toast

Herbed Skyr Toast

Description

Simple, savory, and seriously satisfying. This Herbed Skyr Toast might be our new go-to for mornings that need a little extra oomph.

This toast layers tangy, creamy Icelandic Provisions Plain Skyr (yes, a single-serve cup works perfectly!) with fresh dill, chives, capers, and garlic for a spread that’s equal parts bright and bold. Top it with jammy eggs and a drizzle of chili crunch oil, and you’ve got a breakfast that looks fancy—but comes together in 20 minutes.

Ingredients
1/2 Cup
Icelandic Provisions Plain Skyr
1 1/2 Teaspoon
Freshly chopped dill
1 Teaspoon
Freshly chopped chives, plus extra for garnish
1 1/2 Teaspoon
Capers, chopped
1 Clove
Small garlic, finely minced or pressed
1 Pinch
Salt, plus more to taste
2-3
Large Eggs
2
Slices of bread, toasted
Chili crunch oil, optional garnish
Recipe
Step 1
To a small bowl add the skyr, dill, chives, capers, garlic, and give everything a good mix until combined. Taste and add more salt as needed. Set aside.
Step 2
Fill a medium pot with water and bring to a boil. Slowly lower the eggs into the water and let cook for 7 minutes for a jammy egg, and 10 minutes for a hard boiled egg.
Step 3
Remove the eggs and transfer to a bowl filled with ice water and let cool for 4-5 minutes. Once cooled, remove the eggs from their shells and cut them into fourths.
Step 4
Divide the skyr between the two slices of toast, spreading it out in an even layer. Top each slice of toast with egg wedges, a drizzle of chili crunch oil, and a sprinkle of chives. Enjoy immediately.
